11月29日のさいくりシネマテークは、アキカウリスマキの、敗者三部作完結編、でした。敗者三部作といっても、ユーモアがあり、最後に救いがある。人の優しさの力と奇跡を描いていました。最新作「希望のかなた」も素晴らしかったけれど、世相を反映してか、この映画と比べるとさらにメッセージが切実なものとなっているように思えました。「もう今までのようにはいかない」と。でもやはり彼は、人の優しさの素晴らしさを描いていて、「それはなにがしかの力を持つのだよ」と言ってくれているように感じました。

・・・そして今回も・・・ついつい面白すぎてAI様にお願いしてしまいました。

Screening 29 November 2017

On 29 November, Saijo Clinic Cinematheque showed Aki Kaurismäki’s final part of “the Loser Trilogy”.
Even though it is called the Loser Trilogy, there is humour there, and there is redemption at the end.
It depicted the power and miracle of human kindness.
The latest film, The Other Side of Hope, was also excellent.
Still, the message of the latest one seemed even more poignant than tonight’s film, perhaps reflecting the state of the world.
It was as if he was saying, ‘It’s not going to be like it was before.’
But I still felt that he was depicting the beauty of human kindness and telling us that “it has some power to affect your mind”.

By the way, again this time… I was too busy being funny to ask Mr AI to do it.
